With Metatrader either running or closed, the user tries to open or execute the file from his desktop. Windows does not recognize the file, and even when manually pointing the file association function to the executable of the Metatrader program, it doesn't work and the user doesn't achieve his goal. Since this is how most files are commonly opened, it is a logical assumption for an individual to make. A quick look at the software documentation, though, will tell you everything you need to know. Just remember to put them in the Metatrader program directory rather than trying to open them directly and you shouldn't have any problems. If you are following all these rules and still receive an error about the file not being recognized or something similar, then you are likely in possession of a corrupted file that cannot be repaired. Try re-downloading the file once or twice after checking your internet connection for stability. If this doesn't work, the file is likely corrupted at its source on the server you're trying to download it from. If using another website doesn't solve the problem, then your last resort is to try re-instaling the software.
